Painted Bracelet DIY

Hey guys!
I can't WAIT to show you this awesome DIY idea! A conversation with a friend gave me the idea of painting shoe-laces...It took me a while to figure out what to do with them but I settled for a simple friendship bracelet technique and out came a badass bracelet design...:D
So here's what to do!

Materials
One long (about 60 cm) shoe lace and one shorter one (about 40 cm) preferably textile because the paint holds better but I'm sure leather ones would work too!
acrylic paint (you could use textile paint too but I like the acrylic one because it gives the shoelace a texture of its own..)
empty plastic container (I used one originally for cream cheese :D)
Step 1
Put paint into your plastic container and stick in the shoe laces. Mix with wooden sticks/you fingers/old paint brushes...It kind of feels like spreading sauce on pasta! :P when everything is covered carefully take the shoe laces out and hang them over a clothes hanger to dry..This will take a few hours as the paint is quite thick!

Step 2
Make a knot into the middle of both shoe laces creating a loop and then proceed to make knots with the two longer end around the shorter ones as shown in the picture...
When the bracelet is long enough pull the two outer ends through two or three loops at the end to secure...
And there you have it! To close the bracelet just thread one of the ends through the loop and tie together!

xoxo Alex
